The Quality Assurance Manager provides leadership and direction of the quality function in order to influence and assist the Service Center Manager with the implementation of the GATX Maintenance Group Strategic Initiatives. The focus will be to manage the quality management system and its components to ensure compliance to regulatory and GATX requirements. POSITION: RAILCAR REPAIRER / MECHANIC
Position Purpose:
The Locomotive/Railcar Technician 2 performs scheduled and on demand maintenance, repair and inspection of GATX-owned locomotives and Railcars in the Western Alberta territory. Ensures that all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is complete in order to facilitate correct and timely customer billing. Must understand and follow GATX and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures. Must demonstrate good teamwork skills and knowledge of FRA and AAR regulations.
Position Purpose: The Railcar Mechanic 2 conducts all aspects of inspection, testing and repair of GATX owned and non-owned railcars, while helping to maintain and foster customer relationships. Accurately completes required documentation and updates GATX, AAR and external systems directly related to repairs performed. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, GATX policies, procedures and engineering instructions, Field Manual of the AAR Interchange Rules, applicable Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices and DOT regulations.
